The Roofman cast continues to grow, as a spate of high-profile stars have been announced a day after the release date was confirmed for the Channing Tatum-led picture.
Who has joined the Roofman cast?
According to a recent report from Deadline, the Roofman cast is adding stars LaKeith Stanfield (Get Out, Sorry to Bother You), Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom), Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Molly Price (Babygirl), Lily Collias (Good One), Emory Cohen (Rebel Ridge), and Tony Revolori (Asteroid City) to the project.
The four actors will join the previously announced cast of Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, and Peter Dinklage, making for an all-star cast for the upcoming project. It’s unclear exactly what everyone’s roles will be, however.
Roofman will be released in United States theaters on October 3, 2025, from Paramount and Miramax. The film is directed by Derek Cianfrance, from a script written by Cianfrance and Kirk Gunn. Lynette Howell Taylor, Jamie Patricof, and Duncan Montgomery serve as producers on the film.
Based on a true story, Roofman is “about a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname ‘Roofman.’ After escaping from prison, he starts a new life while hiding in a toy store, falling in love with a single mother and her two daughters. However, his criminal past and a final robbery threaten to destroy his chance at redemption.”
Cianfrance made his feature film directorial debut in 1998 with Brother Tied, which he also wrote. His second feature film was 2010’s Blue Valentine starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. After that, he reunited with Gosling for 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines, which co-starred Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, Dane DeHaan, Rose Byrne, and Mahershala Ali.
