Anthony Ramos and Ben Mendelsohn are taking to New York, as Deadline reports the pair will star in the upcoming horror movie Molepeople, all about a group of people living below the city.
What do we know about Molepeople?
Ramos and Mendelsohn’s role in the film are unknown as of now, but the film is described as a horror movie all about “one man’s nightmarish descent into the abandoned tunnels beneath the streets of New York City, where a twisted society lurks.”
The movie will be directed by Rob Savage, who previously directed the 2023 horror movie The Boogeyman, 2021’s Dashcam, and the 2020 horror movie Host. The film will be produced, in part, by Raphael Margules and J.D Lifshitz of BoulderLight Pictures.
“Molepeople fuels a modern audience with shocks and thrills, captivating, heightened feelings of fear. Rob’s direction is stylish; BoulderLight’s understanding of modern audiences is unmatched – and together the filmmakers are best in class,” said Embankment Film’s (the company handling international sales) Hugh Grumbar.
The Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Ramos is best known for his role in the Broadway series Hamilton, but has also starred in a litany of high-profile projects, including the In the Heights movie adaptation, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and 2024’s Twisters.
Mendelsohn is a legend in the acting world, having starred in movies like The Year My Voice Broke, Animal Kingdom, The Dark Knight Rises, Rogue One, Ready Player One, Captain Marvel, and more.
