The football star was selected to play for the New England Patriots during the 2010 NFL Draft. He served as tight end for three seasons but was released from the team after being charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd. Hernandez died in his prison cell in 2017 by apparent suicide and was diagnosed with stage 3 CTE after his death.
