9-1-1 co-creator Tim Minear has confirmed a stealthy 9-1-1: Lone Star cameo in season 8 of the main series, explaining the process behind the surprise appearance. During 9-1-1 season 8, episode 2, Athena (Angela Bassett) has a flashback involving the day of her fianc Emmett’s (Jeff Pierre) funeral, which included a dispatcher performing one last call during the mournful event. The voice of said dispatcher belonged to none other than Gina Torres, who portrays Captain Timmy Vega in 9-1-1: Lone Star. The cameo more readily connects both series to one another late into their runs.
