Ridley Scott has now set a new series at Amazon that will tell the story of the deadly volcano eruption in Pompeii. Pompeii is a lost Italian city that was destroyed when the volcano Mount Vesuvius experienced a violent eruption in 79CE. Scott is the director of a number of iconic films, including Blade Runner, Alien, and Gladiator. This year, the director is coming out with a new epic historical drama, Gladiator II, this year, which is set for release in theaters on November 22.
