NBC’s 2010 sci-fi mystery series, The Event, had the potential to be as big as Lost, but it was canceled before season 2. Created by Nick Wauters, the show follows a group of aliens that were discovered after their craft crashed in Alaska. The series aired after Lost had ended, and was heavily advertised as the show that would replace the popular series. The Event premiered to favorable reviews, but as the show went on, the reviews started becoming more divisive.
