A GoT Jon Snow spinoff was reportedly in the works, with the long-rumored Game of Thrones sequel series exploring his life after season 8’s finale. Game of Thrones‘ ending was divisive, to say the least, but it also appeared to be definitive. HBO has since put several Game of Thrones spinoffs into various stages of development, and they all seemed to fit this idea. Rather than sequels, HBO has been focused on developing prequels. House of the Dragon season 1 has finished, with season 2 on the way, set around 200 years earlier.
