Mindy Kaling has her own TV comedy empire today, but she got her start writing and starring in a small play, Matt & Ben, imagining Matt Damon and Ben Affleck discovering the script of Good Will Hunting falling from the sky. Kaling first gained recognition for her work in The Office, then she used the same wit to create The Mindy Project. More recently, Kaling has focused on her behind-the-camera talents, show-running Netflix’s teen sitcom Never Have I Ever and HBO’s teenage dramedy series The Sex Lives of College Girls. However, none of this would have been possible without her strange Good Will Hunting connection.
