Popular American teen drama series Euphoria made its debut in 2019 to rave reviews from viewers. Due to its contentious yet emotionally adept narrative, the show has been able to amass a huge fanbase in a short time. With its second season airing in 2022, admirers of the series have been eagerly waiting for an update on the release date of Euphoria Season 3. However, as per a recent statement by actor Eric Dane, viewers might have to wait for an extended period for the show’s upcoming chapter.
Euphoria Season 3 release date may not arrive until 2026
According to Eric Dane, the release date of Euphoria Season 3 is likely to be pushed back to as far as 2026.
The veteran actor shared his opinion on Euphoria’s third season during a recent interview with The Direct’s Russ Milheim. While promoting his forthcoming film, One Last Move, Dane shed light on when fans of the Max series can expect its third chapter to come out. “I would be very surprised if we shot in 2025 and aired in 2025,” he said. “And you know that has to do also with HBO’s schedule as well, which shows they need to bring back,” he added.
Highlighting the extensive process behind filming such shows, Dane stated that Euphoria Season 3 could receive a 2026 release date. “It takes us a good seven to eight months to finish shooting eight episodes of that show. It takes a long time,” Dane explained. “So, yeah, I think we’re looking at 2026…And hopefully, that’s not the last season. We’ll see,” he further stated.
This update comes as an unwelcome surprise for fans, who were previously promised a 2025 premiere. In a 2023 interview, HBO CEO Casey Bloys claimed that Euphoria Season 3 would be released in 2025. However, Dane’s recent comments seem to indicate that further delay in production could postpone the third season by another year.
Euphoria follows the journey of high-school students who attempt to navigate their way through life. The series stars Zendaya as the lead character, with Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Jacob Elordi, among others, occupying other pivotal parts.
