FX’s Grotesquerie took a major twist this week, revealing that Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash-Betts) has been in a coma throughout the events of this season and that everything thus far was a coma-induced nightmare. Many of the characters have real-life counterparts, including her daughter Merritt Tryon, played by Raven Goodwin (who, instead of an aspiring reality star, is a highly educated cancer researcher). Grotesquerie’s serial killer duo of Sister Megan Duvall (Micaela Diamond) and Father Charlie Mayhew (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) are revealed to actually be Detective Megan Duvall and Dr. Charlie Mayhew, who are Lois’ coworker and doctor, respectively.
