When you think of romance films, the first thing that pops to mind is clichd stories, predictable narratives of ‘will-they-won’t-they,’ and happy endings with couples sailing off into their new lives. While some of great romance movies have been released in 2024 and some are exceptionally well-executed, many other aspects of this genre often go overlooked. Films that push the boundaries of what it means to be in love, gritty, action storylines, or spicy romantic films that take a sinister turn are anything but the normal tropes.
