While it seemed unlikely that an anime as popular as Spy x Family would fail to be renewed for a third season, the months-long wait for an announcement after the second seasons finale in December 2023, had more than a few fans of the hit spy action comedy thinking the worst. Not even the premiere of the franchises first big-screen movie Spy x Family: Code White – was enough to staunch the sense of foreboding fans were experiencing. Fans’ concerns were finally allayed with the early June 2024 announcement confirming that Spy x Family season 3 was indeed in the works.
