Sauron spent The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 in Eregion, but his timing wasn’t quite the same in the books. The Rings of Power adapts stories of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age, outlined in The Lord of the Rings’ appendices and elaborated on further in The Silmarillion. Key to these stories is how Sauron took his fair form, calling himself Annatar, and went to Eregion undercover to initiate his plan to take over the world. This involved forging the Rings of Power, which the show depicted with its own unique timing.
