A Court of Thorns and Roses is one of those epic fantasy series that is really hard to put down after the first book ends. Sarah J. Maas accomplishes this effect by writing compelling, interesting, and dynamic characters that show tremendous growth over time. Beyond the characters, Maas also spends the entire series crafting intricate, high-stakes plots that leave us fully invested in the outcomes. Although the events of the A Court of Thorns and Roses books set up for an epic television series, critics suggest there are still elements of the book that the show can improve upon.
