Disney has announced Sister Act 3, but development on the long-awaited third film has been slow. The original films, Sister Act and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, were released in 1992 and 1993, respectively. The Sister Act franchise stars Whoopi Goldberg as Deloris Van Cartier, a street-smart Nevada singer who witnesses a mafia-style murder. After joining the Witness Protection Program, she relocates to San Francisco and begins a new life as a nun, Sister Mary Clarence.
