New details revealed in Liam Payne’s toxicology report results

Liam Payne’s toxicology report from Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office confirms he had alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants in his body. This was at the time of his death on October 16.

Officials conducted the analysis on samples from Payne’s urine, blood, and vitreous humour, and informed his family before the public announcement. Initial ABC News reports mentioned the presence of “pink cocaine”—a mix of ketamine and MDMA—but the final report did not seem to include it.

Authorities detained three individuals connected to Payne’s death: a hotel employee, an alleged drug dealer, and his supposed friend. Officials accused two of them of supplying narcotics and charged another with abandonment of a person resulting in death. They reported that Payne spent time with one of these individuals shortly before his fall from a third-floor hotel balcony.

The prosecutor’s office stated that Payne passed away from “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” due to the fall. At the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, staff alerted emergency services about a guest “under the influence” who was “trashing the entire room” near a balcony. This raised concerns for his safety. Emergency responders arrived and found Payne in the hotel courtyard, where they pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities found no evidence indicating self-harm or physical intervention by others in his fall. The report also concluded that Payne was “not fully conscious” at the time of his fall, seemingly affected by an altered state from substance intake.
