The MCU has hosted some particularly dark twists over the last 16 years. This should come as no surprise considering how large the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, with 34 movies and 13 shows (and counting) in its repertoire. The more grim events within these MCU movies are also a testament to the franchise’s ability to deliver grounded depictions of some otherwise outlandish characters and stories.
