A Mass Effect TV show is now in the works with a Fast & Furious franchise writer shepherding the adaptation. First released in 2007, the Mass Effect video game franchise takes place far in the future as humanity and alien races colonize the galaxy using a technology left behind by an advanced civilization. Developed by BioWare, the third-person sci-fi franchise now consists of four main entries and several mobile games, in addition to novels and an animated movie. The Mass Effect games were originally published by Microsoft Games Studio, but Electronic Arts has handled publishing since 2010.
