I Know What You Did Last Summer Reboot Cast Adds 4 to Ensemble
The sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer has added four more names to its ensemble cast, including Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story breakout star Nicholas Alexander Chavez.
The iconic slasher franchise will be getting a new lease on life as Sony Pictures is developing a sequel movie to the 1997 box office hit with Someone Great filmmaker Jennifer Kaytin Robinson directing. It was also announced that Freddie Prinze Jr. will be returning to reprise his role of Ray Bronson, with Jennifer Love Hewitt — who played Julie James in the first two installments — in talks to return.
Who else is in the I Know What You Did Last Summer cast?
In addition to the General Hospital star, who recently gained worldwide attention for his roles in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and Grotesquerie, the sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer has also added Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Austin Nichols (The Day After Tomorrow, John From Cincinnati), and musician/model Gabbriette to round out the ensemble cast. The sequel will serve as Gabbriette’s feature film acting debut.
They will be joining previously announced cast members Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid, The Tattooist of Auschwitz), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies Bodies Bodies, City on Fire), Sarah Pidgeon (Lazareth, Tiny Beautiful Things), and Tyriq Withers (The Game).
Sam Lansky and Kaytin Robinson serve as the Sony reboot’s writers, with Neal Moritz producing. Though little is still known about the sequel, it is anticipated to hit theaters on July 18, 2025.
The original film, which was released in theaters in 1997, spawned two more installments including the 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and the 2006 standalone sequel I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
