After various high-profile disagreements and failed deals, Netflix may be set to break away from past strategies and give Greta Gerwig’s The Chronicles of Narnia movie adaptation a more substantial theatrical release. After acquiring the complete rights to C.S. Lewis’s fantasy novel series in an unprecedented deal in 2018, Gerwig officially signed on to write and direct at least two movies in the streamer’s Chronicles of Narnia series. While Coco’s Matthew Aldrich has been brought on board to help pen the outline for the series, it is currently unknown which novel Gerwig will adapt first.
