Becky Lynch, a former Women’s World Champion, has been absent from WWE since May. Since then, there has been much speculation regarding her contract with the promotion. She lost her Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at the WWE King and Queen of the Ring event.

Following her loss, Lynch invoked her rematch clause just two days later on the May 27 edition of RAW. The two faced off again inside a steel cage and Lynch was determined to defeat her opponent. However, Morgan retained her title after Dominik Mysterio interfered in the match, along with The Judgment Day and Braun Strowman.

During the match, Strowman charged at The Judgment Day members, inadvertently sending Dominik Mysterio into the cage door. This impact swung the door into Lynch’s face just as she was about to escape, knocking her back into the ring and allowing Morgan to exit the cage and retain her championship.

Since her second defeat to Morgan, Lynch has remained off WWE programming. Reports indicate that her contract expired on June 1, and she has since taken an extended leave from WWE.

In the meantime, Morgan has frequently claimed to have “retired” Becky Lynch. A recent update by Jonathan Coachman on the “Backstage Pass” podcast reveals that Lynch asked for a significant raise in her contract negotiations, but WWE reportedly declined her request.

Latest update on Becky Lynch’s WWE contract

Fightful Select reacted to Jonathan Coachman’s statement. In fact, Coachman suggested that if the promotion had agreed to the same, Becky Lynch would have returned to the show.

However, sources within WWE disputed Coachman’s statements, affirming that the WWE remains on good terms with Lynch. The promotion respects her decision to take time off after her recent run. The reports also mentioned that if Lynch had wanted to negotiate a new deal before taking a hiatus, an agreement would have been reached by now. The report also denied the two million deal, indicating that Lynch’s actual contract value would likely far surpass that amount.
