In the 21st-century era of film, Jason Statham‘s name has become ubiquitous with the action genre. His first franchise film came only four years into his feature film career, when he played protagonist Frank Martin in the 2002 film The Transporter. This kickstarted the action sequels Transporter 2 in 2005 and Transporter 3 in 2008. He continued his franchise streak with Crank in 2006. Now, Statham is known for many other action franchises, including the Expendables movies.
