Omar from Syria was first seen in the franchise with his now-wife, Avery Mills. The American woman had matched with Omar on a dating app for Muslim people. She chose to fly to meet him in person and, despite their religious and cultural barriers, Omar and Avery stayed together after she converted to Islam and married Omar in Lebanon.
