ComingSoon is debuting the first look at Oni Press‘ Plague House #1, a haunting new comic featuring ghost stories from writer Michael W. Conrad and artist Dave Chisholm.
The first issue of Plague House is set to release in April 2025 and will follow a trio of eclectic ghost hunters — Jacob, Holland, and Del — as they explore haunted locations to try and prove the existence of the supernatural.
“In Plague House, a trio of eclectic ghost hunters – Jacob, the holy man, Holland, the skeptic, and leader Del, the believer – explore haunted locales, hoping to prove the existence of the undead and exorcize malicious spirits,” reads the comic’s description. “At the McCabe House, the scene of a grisly quadruple homicide, the group senses the deep pain left in the wake of the crime. As Orin McCabe sits in prison, Del learns from his family’s ghosts what it will require to cleanse the home of their restless spirits…”
The comic will be the second of five new projects from acclaimed creators set to release in spring 2025 from Oni Press, with three of the comics unknown as of yet, and the other being Free for All, by Patrick Horvath, which hits stores March 2025. Plague House will be comprised of four issues and will retail for $4.99 when it goes on sale in April.

What is Plague House about?
“I swear I saw a ghost as a child, floating in the living room of my family home,” says writer Michael W. Conrad, the acclaimed writer who has worked on comics like Wonder Woman and Double Walker. “I wasn’t dreaming. The man bobbed in the corner, staring at me, wordlessly pleading for help. Plague House is about answering that call and discovering the true nature of hauntings, imprinted memories, and the demands places can make of the living.”
Art for Plague House will be handled by Dave Chisholm (Miles Davis and the Search for the Sound), who won a Ringo Award in 2024 for his work. In a statement about their collaboration, Conrad said that he’s been a fan of Chisholm’s for some time now and that he’s excited to get to work together.
“I’ve been a fan of Dave [Chisholm]’s art for a very long time,” Conrad said. “It’s been a delight to bring him into this corrupted place, and watch him dwell in the darkness. I hope he comes out of it okay, and I hope the readers understand the dangers this book presents to us as the creators, as well as to those bold enough to join us in its pages.”
