What happens in Venom: The Last Dance’s mid and post-credits scenes?
In the mid-credits scene, Knull (played by Andy Serkis, who previously directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage) is shown going on a vicious rant about how he will kill everyone and burn the world. He also does not have the codex, which he heavily coveted and had sent the Xenophages to retrieve it from Eddie and Venom, who possessed it but failed to do so after Venom destroyed it by sacrificing himself at the end of the movie by luring all the Xenophages to acid tanks which were then blown up by Rex Strickland after he activated them.
Due to Venom: The Last Dance seemingly being the final movie in the series, it is unknown how Knull’s threats will be followed up on. However, rumors suggest that Knull could factor into the plot of the upcoming Spider-Man 4, which is reported to be released between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars and rumored to involve the multiverse.
Then in the post-credits scene, Cristo Fernandez’s bartender, who had been earlier arrested by Rex Strickland, who wished to interrogate him about Eddie, is shown fleeing the remains of Area 51, which had been destroyed in the film’s third act. A cockroach is then shown entering a broken symbiote vial, which appears to contain something.
Meanwhile, the final scene of the film, before the after-credits scenes, shows Eddie, now in New York, visiting the Statue of Liberty to honor Venom’s final wish.
Venom: The Last Dance is directed by Kelly Marcel, who also wrote the screenplay and co-wrote the story with Tom Hardy. Besides Hardy, Serkis, and Fernandez, the film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Rhys Ifans, and Clark Backo.
